What is periodontology?
Periodontology is one of the important branches of dentistry, the development of periodontal inflammatory diseases (gingivitis and periodontitis) starts from the gums. It includes all the tissues around the tooth, which ensure the fixation of the tooth in the jaw bone. These tissues are: gingiva, periodontal ligament, alveolar bone, and alveolar bone. Bleeding gums often do not have an appropriate response from patients, they blame it on incorrectly selected toothbrushes or swabs, the common pattern of behavior is wrong and can lead to serious consequences.
In periodontological treatment
the disease is firstly diagnosed, which includes anamnesis collection, oral photography and computer tomography. By summarizing all these data, a correct diagnosis is made and individual treatment is started. Periodontal treatment includes, first of all, the mechanical elimination of bacterial bioapk, soft and hard plaque in the tooth-gum area, which is carried out through a special device and is called root scaling and instrumentation. In case of complex diagnoses, additional treatment methods are used, such as the use of antibacterial drugs, laser therapy, teeth whitening. When a complicated form of periodontitis is detected, only periodontological treatment is not enough and it is necessary to involve representatives of other fields of dentistry. In Tamuna Kurashvili dental clinic "Danblan" periodontitis is treated with the latest methods and equipment.
